Also, I really dig that art style! Very nice. Panoramas are handled very well by RM2k3, for most purposes. If you do parallax mapping, you can make your map out of a png image, instead of building with tiles, so it can be as detailed as. Than ou just need the correct picture sices for the parallax background and the pictures above thatone. And you need a parallax map scroll Fix Script. The easy one: You need a Picture to Map Fix Script. at least, for the people using more recent versions of RPG Maker. There is easy parallax mapping and there is the complicated one for more advanced people. Larger maps may cause a bit of slowdown on load, but I doubt it'll ever be a problem for 95% of computers. The super pixelated stuff that a lot of people use is seemingly a matter of taste, rather than something they're doing out of technical limitations. pngs (like you should always) and keep your maps under, oh, 75x75, maybe 100x100, and you should never see any lag whatsoever. This isn't an RM2k3 issue, it's just that bmps contain a lot of totally uncompressed data. I want the background image to scroll at a different speed depending on which way the player walks. These will be background layers and we'll be adding the sprites we just created to them. This script allows you to set an animated parallax background by having multiple frames and switching between them at a user-defined speed.
